Failure. It’s a constant companion on my journey since my university days.

The pinnacle of my life was reaching the Top 1 Faculty of Law at Universitas Indonesia after graduating high school and launching my own YouTube channel. However, the enthusiasm dwindled as I faced setbacks in competitions, scholarships, and economic hardships due to my family’s financial struggles. Life became a relentless pursuit of working harder, studying harder, and trying to outperform others, leading me to lose touch with myself. This disconnect extended to my relationships, making me feel isolated.

The turning point came when I decided to open up to others by joining organizations. Surprisingly, I excelled in creating the best division in a board organization. Participating in a constitutional mooting class, involving mooting court practice and teamwork, introduced me to people from diverse backgrounds, fostering understanding and creating cherished memories filled with laughter. Rediscovering the joy of laughter and fun, elements lost in the daily grind, made me reflect on the stark difference between adulthood and childhood creativity. When a kid sees a box, they can imagine a ship or create a house, but as we grow up, we only see a normal box. Connecting with those around me makes me feel alive, tones down my competitive mindset, and allows for normal but healthy competition between us. That feeling is amazing.

2023 has taught me to be open and connect with those around me. Being fun and passionate about mundane tasks every day is something people shouldn’t miss. So, when life gives you lemons, create lemonade!
