Journal #2 The 5th Semester is Over: It’s Been a Rollercoaster Journey!
If I were to encapsulate the 5th semester in a single word, it would be ‘unpredictable.’
Yes, unpredictable because I’m being spontaneous right now. Many things that I never predicted happened to me; I met a lot of new people, gained fresh perspectives, and encountered new subjects that I thought I would hate!
I took a break in the 4th semester due to financial conditions, deciding not to continue my studies. When I resumed in the 5th semester, I discovered that I couldn’t take the specialization and courses I wanted because one of the requirements was to complete a course from the 4th semester. This led to a drastic change in my path, affecting my future career.
Throughout my life, I had always wanted to delve into private and economics law, but I couldn’t pursue it. It was hard for me because I had planned for it. Consequently, I ended up taking courses in Constitutional Law and Criminal Law, which I kind of hate, to be honest. It doesn’t feel like me! But yeah, whatever happens, happened. I try to find a positive outlook on these subjects. Even though I don’t like them, I recognize that every piece of knowledge is useful, nevertheless, I acknowledge that every bit of knowledge holds value, so I am nurturing my curiosity towards these subjects, surprisingly thriving in the process! My passion is growing to understand more about Constitutional Law and Criminal Law; it’s crazy!
On the other hand, I met a bunch of new people whom I never thought I would be friends with, gaining many fresh perspectives from them. I even met my crush, hehe! Even though we’re not close, I like him and admire his personality. However, I don’t have the courage to confess it — HAHA!
To wrap up, this semester brought a lot of challenges, but you know there’s surely a blessing in disguise, right?
